James and Anita are the owners – James – Originally from Montreal, moved to Newton Abbot in 1994 where he worked as a teacher for 20 years before taking ‘early retirement’! Anita – Originally from Worcester, started working in the kitchen here at The Sandygate Inn in 2016. Prior to this, she created bespoke meals for a wrestling company herself and James had. She is a true lover of dogs, especially pugs which can become clear when you see the photos up around our pub!

We have a large food menu to accommodate everybody, as well as a large drinks selection! With a different offer everyday as well, you can always have what you want and maybe with a deal too!
We offer live music throughout the year, as well as open mic nights too! Our popular meat draw is every Friday at 9pm with multiple prizes each week!
